This Policy explains cookies and browser storage on audioabsolute.md (AudioAbsolute). For data questions, contact info@audioabsolute.md. It supplements the Privacy Policy.
1. Cookies and local storage
Cookies are small records a browser saves and sends to the site with later requests. They help maintain login, remember choices and distinguish visits. LocalStorage saves browser settings without automatically sending them with each request. These identifiers may be associated with personal data; a random identifier does not mean data is completely anonymous.
Visiting, scrolling, registering or reading this Policy does not constitute consent to optional technologies.
Catalogue preferences (equipment purpose and segment) are saved in the site database and associated with an account only through a separate user action. No separate cookies or localStorage records are created to store these choices; account access uses the existing authentication mechanisms. Current search parameters may be sent in URLs and retained in browser history. Catalogue settings are separate from the Preferences category in the cookie panel and do not constitute consent to analytics or advertising. Changing them, resetting search or clearing browser storage does not itself delete saved account settings.
2. The site's own cookies
The periods below are set by the site. Browsers may delete data sooner; setting a cookie again restarts its period.
- PHP session, usually PHPSESSID: associates requests within a session and supports forms and protection against forged requests. Usually lasts for the browser session; session restoration depends on browser settings.
- Login cookie, with a name starting nj35498j43423: contains an authentication token, not a password. Lasts up to 30 days after being set for user accounts. Logout or session revocation may end access sooner.
- site_consent: stores consent categories and settings version for up to 180 days, including a decision to decline optional categories.
- aa_guest_favorites: stores favourite listing IDs for visitors without an account login for up to 365 days after the list changes. Set when favourites are used; an empty list removes the cookie.
- site_visitor: a random identifier for the site's own visit tracking, lasting up to 365 days and renewed on visits with valid Analytics consent. Set only after Analytics is allowed. Declining stops tracking and removes the existing cookie on the next page load. Withdrawing consent reloads the page. Technical request processing and security records continue without this identifier.
Technical session, login and consent-choice cookies are not disabled by optional-category switches. Guest favourites and interface settings operate separately from external analytics.
3. Local storage
- audioabsolute-theme: the light, dark or system theme; the former theme entry is migrated to this key.
- aa-favorites-changed: a favourites-update marker used to coordinate open tabs.
- aa-activity-v1-…: processed notification and message markers for the relevant account, to avoid repeating notifications across tabs.
- audioabsolute.chat-safety-hidden-until: the time until which the conversation-safety notice is hidden. Closing it hides the notice for 24 hours.
These localStorage entries have no automatic browser expiry: they remain until cleared, replaced by the site or removed by the browser. A setting's validity period, such as hiding a notice for 24 hours, does not mean the record itself is deleted. Cookie switches do not automatically clear these settings.
Community drafts and the emoji picker
aa-community-draft:v1:… (localStorage): when a signed-in user fills out a form, the browser stores the title, text, reply or quote references and technical draft details. Each record is associated with the account and form on that device. Draft validity is 14 days from the last save; an expired record is removed the next time that draft is read, not by a background timer. Drafts are cleared after successful submission or explicit discard; clearing the site's browser data also removes them. Signing out and cookie switches do not guarantee draft removal. Clear drafts separately on shared devices. Selected but unsubmitted photographs are not stored in localStorage and must be selected again after a reload.
Emoji catalogue (IndexedDB): after opening the full picker, the browser may retain a local symbol dictionary and search data for reuse. Catalogue files are served from our site without an external CDN. This technical storage supports the requested picker feature; no fixed automatic deletion period is set, and it can be cleared through the browser. Your personal recent-emoji list is stored in the site's database against your account, not in cookies or the picker's browser favourites; clearing browser data alone does not delete it. These features do not enable analytics or advertising.
4. Consent categories
The settings panel shows categories available for connected services: necessary, preferences, analytics, marketing and external media. Optional categories are off by default unless a valid earlier choice is saved. The panel lets you accept all available categories, decline optional ones or save an individual choice.
Necessary functions support sessions, security and remembering choices. Optional categories apply to services connected through the consent system. The panel is not a universal switch for every cookie or network request: technical functions and local settings are described separately above. The site's own visit tracking belongs to Analytics.
5. Google Tag Manager and external video
Google Tag Manager loads only after Analytics is allowed. No container is loaded before valid consent. Withdrawing Analytics permission reloads the page without the container. The site sends separate analytics and marketing consent signals; advertising tags must additionally respect Marketing permission.
Separate direct integrations for Google Analytics, Google Ads, Yandex Metrica and Meta Pixel are disabled in the site's configuration. This is not a statement that such tags are absent from Google Tag Manager.
Embedded YouTube videos use the External media category. Before permission, supported players show a placeholder; the permission button enables this category. YouTube privacy-enhanced mode is used, but it does not mean no data is processed. Once a player loads, Google may receive IP address, browser and video-interaction information.
External cookies and their periods depend on provider settings and user interactions. See Google's information on cookie use and YouTube embedding and privacy-enhanced mode. External services may process data outside the Republic of Moldova.
6. Changing choices and deleting data
Open Cookie settings using the site's control or the button below, change the available categories and save. Declining optional categories does not prevent browsing listings or using main functions, although external videos may be unavailable.
Withdrawing consent affects subsequent operation of the relevant services without changing the lawfulness of processing based on consent before withdrawal. It does not automatically delete previously transmitted data, third-party-domain cookies, your account, conversations or security records.
Browser settings let you inspect and delete cookies and site data, block storage or restrict third-party cookies. Deletion may log you out and clear guest favourites, theme and consent choices. Removing site_consent or letting it expire may cause the banner to appear again. Choices are stored separately for each browser and device.
7. Personal data and requests
A cookie's lifetime on a device may differ from retention of related server data. A saved site_visitor cookie does not authorise analytics by itself: valid Analytics consent in site_consent, stored for up to 180 days, is also required. Withdrawal stops new tracking but does not automatically delete earlier records. For example, detailed visit records older than 90 days are handled by background cleanup while daily totals are retained. Other periods, processing grounds and rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction and objection are described in the Privacy Policy.
The laws of the Republic of Moldova apply, including Law No. 195/2024 on personal data protection. For cookie questions and rights requests, write to info@audioabsolute.md. You may also contact the National Centre for Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Moldova.
8. Updates
We update this document when technologies, purposes or retention periods change. If a change requires renewed consent, it is requested separately. Publishing a new version does not itself replace consent. The current version's date appears at the top.
